This device is simply used to push the knot through the cannula and into the joint. Several variations have been manufactured. We prefer a simple closed ring. The knot pusher can be used as more than simply an instrument to tie knots. It may also be used to deliver suture to a grasper or even to redirect a suture through fragile soft tissue such as the labrum.9
